Useful Features of the Viewer App
Playlist, transparent background, FPS throttling, FX parameters, and more
The viewer app offers a variety of convenient features not only for viewing avatars, but also for making streaming and recording more comfortable. This page introduces 6 of the most commonly used features.
- Playlist — Play multiple animations in sequence
- Transparent Background Mode — Float only your avatar on the desktop
- Load Reduction Mode (FPS Throttle) — Lower GPU load when there is no movement
- Avatar Transparency Mode — Make the avatar semi-transparent at the mouse position to operate what's behind it
- VRChat Compatible Light — Switch to lighting closer to that inside VRChat
- VRChat FX Parameters — Switch avatar expressions, outfits, and more
Playlist
A feature that plays multiple animation files (.anim / .vrma) in sequence. Useful when you want to show multiple poses or movements consecutively during a stream.

How to Use
- Open the Playlist Panel from the toolbar
- Add animation files to the playlist using the "Add File" button
- Control playback with the play, pause, stop, previous, and next buttons
- Entries in the playlist can be reordered by dragging
Sets and Playback Modes
- Sets: Up to 10 playlists can be saved. You can use different ones for different scenes
- Playback Mode: Sequential / Random
- Repeat Mode: All (loop all) / One (repeat single)
- Up to 10 entries can be added to each set
- The previously selected set is automatically restored
Transparent Background Mode
A feature that makes the window background transparent so that only the avatar appears to float on the desktop. Useful for OBS window capture or as a desktop mascot.

How to Use
- Press the Transparent Background Toggle button in the toolbar
- The window frame disappears, leaving only the avatar visible
- Press it again to return to normal mode
Characteristics in Transparent Mode
- Always on Top: The window stays displayed above other windows
- Click-through: Clicks pass through transparent areas where the avatar is not displayed to the apps behind
- Hotkey: While holding keys such as Alt / Ctrl / Shift (configurable), click-through is temporarily disabled and camera controls become available
Lower FPS When There Is No Movement (Load Reduction Mode)
A feature that automatically lowers the rendering FPS and reduces GPU load when the avatar is not moving. This allows you to save resources when keeping the window open at all times (e.g., as a desktop mascot).

How to Use
- Toggle using the "Lower FPS When There Is No Movement" toggle in the menu
- Choose from 3 levels
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| OFF | Always maximum FPS |
| ON (Shader Aware) | Full FPS while animated shaders (shaders that move over time) are active, throttled otherwise |
| ON | Regardless of shaders, throttled when input, animation, and SpringBone movement have stopped |
Behavior While Throttled
- FPS drops to approximately 5fps when idle
- Returns to maximum FPS when mouse input, animation playback, or SpringBone movement is detected
- Drops to approximately 1fps while the window is minimized
Avatar Transparency Mode
A feature that temporarily makes the avatar semi-transparent when the mouse cursor is over it, allowing you to interact with apps behind it. Useful when you want to click on apps behind the avatar while using it as a desktop mascot.

How to Use
- First, enable Transparent Background Mode (Avatar Transparency cannot be used unless this mode is ON)
- Turn ON the "Avatar Transparency Mode" toggle in the menu
- When you move the mouse over the avatar, it fades out (approximately 0.15 seconds), allowing you to interact with apps behind it
Behavior
- When the mouse moves away from the avatar, it automatically returns to its original opacity
- Pressing the hotkey (Alt / Ctrl / Shift, etc., configurable) instantly restores opacity to 100%
- When turned OFF, the avatar remains fully opaque at all times
- This feature is only available when Transparent Background Mode is ON
VRChat Compatible Light
A feature that switches the viewer app's default lighting (a 3-light setup of key light + fill light + rim light) to a single-light setup closer to VRChat's default world. Use this when you want to reproduce the colors visible in VRChat on the Viewer.
How to Use
- Turn ON the "VRChat Compatible Light" toggle in the menu
- The fill light and rim light are turned OFF, leaving only the single key light
VRChat FX Parameters
A feature that allows you to directly control the expression, outfit, and menu parameters set in the avatar's FX layer from within the viewer app. The same items that can be switched via the radial menu in VRChat can also be controlled in the Viewer.

How to Use
- Press the "VRChat FX Parameters" button in the menu
- A panel opens in the lower right, displaying a list of the avatar's parameters
- Operate using the UI corresponding to each parameter type
- The Reset button restores all parameters to their default values
- This button is only displayed when the avatar contains Expression Parameters (it cannot be pressed for avatars that do not include them)
- VRChat internal parameters and internal parameters from Modular Avatar, etc. are automatically excluded
